Our tubing constructions

APT develops and manufactures fluoropolymer tubings in a variety of designs - from monolayer and multilayer solutions to spiralized tubing bundles and spiral tubings - precisely tailored to the requirements of each application.

Monolayer - tubing solutions in their simplest form

Tube construction: Monolumen
Schematic diagram: Monolayer

The monolayer tubing represents the classic tubing geometry with inner and outer diameters. Despite its seemingly simple cross-section, it impresses with its versatility and precision. Thanks to modern extrusion technologies, the tubing can be specifically adapted to a wide range of requirements - for example in terms of material properties, tolerances, surface quality or transparency.

With our expertise in tubing extrusion, we develop monolayer products that combine quality, functionality and cost-effectiveness. The result is customized solutions that are precisely tailored to the specific requirements of our customers and their applications.

Multilayer tubings - unlimited possibilities in design and function

Multilayer technology opens up completely new perspectives for the development of high-performance tubing systems. The targeted construction of several layers of material allows properties to be combined that would not be possible with a classic monolayer tubing - even materials with different chemical or physical properties can be permanently and functionally combined in this way.

This technology makes it possible to precisely implement specific requirements, for example in terms of barrier effect, flexibility, pressure resistance, transparency or chemical resistance. This results in tubings that are optimally tailored to their respective application - from industrial fluid technology to analysis and laboratory applications through to systems for the automotive or chemical industries.

With our expertise in multilayer extrusion, we develop multilayer products that combine the highest quality, functionality and durability. The result is innovative solutions that reliably meet complex requirements and set new standards in efficiency and material performance.

Molded tubings - precisely shaped solutions for complex installation and line requirements

Molded tubings are always used when the minimum bending radius of a tubing is not reached or the available installation space in systems and devices does not permit free routing. The defined shape enables optimum cable routing with high process reliability.

We manufacture small and large series tools for two- and three-dimensionally shaped tubings in our own tool and mold making department. All we need are details of the material or application conditions, the desired shape (as a sketch or technical drawing) and the dimensions of the tubing.

We produce small batches cost-effectively in stationary furnaces, while a continuous furnace is available for larger quantities - for consistently high quality and cost-effective production.

Tubings with functional and optical stripes - precise identification and extended functionality

In this tubing construction, a functional strip is embedded in the base material, which gives the product additional optical or technical properties. Such strips enable, for example, the clear identification of media lines or the visual differentiation of different functions within a system.

In addition to purely optical markings, functional strips can also offer specific technical advantages. For example, radiopaque strips can be integrated to make tubing visible under X-rays, or conductive strips that ensure controlled conductivity without conductive pigments coming into contact with the inner surface.

APT successfully established PTFE tubings with functional strips on the market back in 2012. Building on this experience, the company developed its own co-extrusion line on which two extrusion lines are precisely combined: One extruder forms the transparent basic tubing, while the second extrudes a colored or functional strip directly into the material. This produces tubing with colored, antistatic or radiopaque stripes without conductive pigments coming into contact with the inner surface.

A key advantage of this co-extrusion solution lies in the combination of functionality and transparency: in contrast to completely filled tubes, the partial transparency is retained - with optimized cost-effectiveness and reproducible quality at the same time.

PFA welding rod - precise round cords for high-quality connections

PFA welding rod refers to extruded round cords that are primarily used for thermally welding films, sheets and molded parts made of fluoropolymers. They ensure a uniform material bond with high tightness, chemical resistance and mechanical stability.

APT manufactures PFA welding rods as standard in diameters of 2.00 mm, 2.50 mm, 3.00 mm, 3.50 mm and 4.00 mm from various application-optimized PFA types. Other dimensions or special materials can also be produced on request.

Material compatibility is crucial for optimum welding results - the composition of the welding rod should exactly match the raw material of the films or sheets to be joined. By specifying the desired base material when ordering, APT can supply the appropriate welding wire at short notice, tailored to the specific requirements of the respective process.

Spiral tubings - flexible solutions for dynamic applications

Spiral tubings made of fluoropolymers are the ideal solution when the effective tubing length has to change continuously in an application. Thanks to their elastic geometry, they offer a high degree of flexibility with a controlled restoring force.

APT manufactures customized spiral tubings from all common fluoropolymers. They are traditionally used in laboratory applications to flexibly guide liquids or gases. They are also increasingly being used in automated production processes and robotics applications where the tubing has to adapt to complex movement sequences on a recurring basis.

In addition, spiral tubings made of fluoroplastics are also suitable as heat exchangers for aggressive or high-purity media. Due to the almost unlimited combination possibilities in terms of dimensions, pitch and material, spiral tubings are manufactured exclusively to customer requirements. In-house toolmaking enables fast and economical implementation - from small to large series.

Spiralized tubings - variable routing and bundling of cables

Spiralized tubings are always used when several tubings or cables need to be routed flexibly and bundled together in an orderly fashion. They are characterized by a circumferential slit that allows individual cables to be inserted and removed at any point.

This design allows a variable arrangement of branches within a tubing bundle without the need for additional connecting elements. Spiralized tubings therefore offer an efficient solution for flexible line protection in plants, laboratories or mobile systems.
