Why fluoropolymer hoses play a crucial role in semiconductor manufacturing, paint shops, and fully automatic coffee machines, and why APT uses its material expertise to develop custom solutions.

In semiconductor manufacturing, when corrosive chemicals are routed through high-purity processes, the hoses used must not interfere with the sensitive production. In paint shops, surfaces that come into contact with the paint must be cleaned quickly and thoroughly during color changes. And in fully automatic coffee machines, hoses are constantly exposed to hot water, steam, and pressure. Three completely different applications, each with equally high demands, that only a few plastics can reliably and durably meet. This is exactly where fluoropolymers come into play. Their high resistance to chemicals and corrosion, temperature stability, and non-stick surfaces make them ideal materials for technically demanding and sensitive processes. In a recent interview with Wirtschaftsforum, APT Managing Director Martin Brück provides insights into this unique world of high-performance plastics. Under the title “The Connection Makes the Difference,” he discusses APT’s development, the special properties of fluoropolymers, and why material knowledge alone is not enough to ensure a reliable hose solution. In doing so, Martin Brück sums up a core principle of APT. In-house product development, plant and tool design, various extrusion processes , and modern inline measurement and testing technology enable us to support a solution from the initial idea through to reproducible series production. The full interview In the full interview, learn why fluoropolymers are indispensable in numerous high-tech applications, how APT develops customized hose solutions, and what goals we are pursuing together with the Masterflex Group. The shareholders' meeting approved the proposal put forward by the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board and resolved to pay a dividend of €0.30 per share for the 2025 fiscal year (previous year: €0.27).

In total, 2,885,500.20 euros (previous year: 2,596,950.18 euros) will be distributed from Masterflex SE’s retained earnings. The remaining amount of €28,884,973.27 will be carried forward to new account. The Annual General Meeting expressed its confidence in the members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board of Masterflex SE for the 2025 fiscal year and approved all items on the agenda by a large majority. In his speech, CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin highlighted in particular the strategic progress made as part of the HERO@ZERO future strategy. A key milestone in this regard is the largest engineering and framework contract in the history of the Masterflex Group to date, which was concluded last year. The series ramp-up is planned for the end of 2026, with full ramp-up scheduled for 2027. With this project, the company expects recurring annual revenues in the mid-single-digit millions and, at the same time, strengthens its technological position in the strategic target industry groups “Life” and “Tech.” In addition, Dr. Bastin highlighted the expansion of cleanroom capacities in the Medical Technology division. By expanding its controlled cleanroom space by approximately 20 percent by the end of 2026, Masterflex is responding to the continued high demand from the medical and laboratory technology sectors and creating additional conditions for further growth in this attractive future market. Another strategic focus was on international expansion in the aviation business. With the laying of the cornerstone for the new plant in Morocco, the Masterflex Group has laid the foundation for the further expansion of its activities in the aviation industry. Through its subsidiary Matzen & Timm, a modern production facility for highly specialized hose and connection systems is being built in the Midparc Free Trade Zone near Casablanca. Dr. Andreas Bastin, CEO of the Masterflex Group: “2025 was a year of significant strategic progress for the Masterflex Group. Despite economic headwinds in some customer industries, we achieved new sales and earnings records while simultaneously laying the groundwork for further profitable growth. With the largest order in the company’s history, the expansion of our cleanroom capacities, and the groundbreaking of our new plant in Morocco, we are strategically strengthening our position in attractive future markets. Our future strategy, HERO@ZERO, is opening up increasingly concrete economic prospects. We are making targeted investments in future markets, technological innovations, and sustainable solutions, thereby strengthening our position as a leading international specialist in sophisticated hose and connection systems.” Voter turnout was 66.25%. Novoplast Schlauchtechnik launches take-back service within Germany

With a new take-back service for sample deliveries, Novoplast Schlauchtechnik is specifically strengthening the concept of the circular economy in industrial hose development. Disposing of hoses - free take-back service Novoplast Schlauchtechnik, a valuable part of the Masterflex Group, is adding a new, sustainability-oriented component to its range of engineering services from this year. As part of a new project, Novoplast is now offering its customers the free return of hose samples within Germany. Circular economy for industry and medical technology Circular economy is the future. The German group of companies recognized this early on and is transforming its business as part of the corporate strategy Hero@Zero , alongside other core pillars, in the direction of circular economy. "For us, the circular economy is no longer just a promise for the future, but an active, strategic commitment. Last year, we presented the first cradle-to-cradle-capable hose innovations at the Masterflex Group. Today, we act as an active development partner and are already implementing C2C-capable solutions in the area of spiral and smooth hoses. Our aim is to consistently think circularly about industrial value creation," emphasizes Masterflex SE CEO Dr. Andreas Bastin. Hoses, engineering expertise and easy take-back The aim of the new take-back service is not to dispose of sample deliveries unused at the end of the test phase, but to return them in a controlled manner and reintroduce them into the material cycle. "The delivery of a product doesn't have to be the end of the story. In engineering in particular, we see a special responsibility to consider the entire life cycle from development to return," explains Niels Mitzlaff, Head of Development (R&D) at Novoplast Schlauchtechnik. Each sample is provided with a label including a QR code , which can be used to trigger the return easily and digitally . With the return service Novoplast Schlauchtechnik is creating a practical solution for customers who want to integrate sustainability into their development processes without any additional organizational effort. At the same time, the company is laying the foundations for further, recyclable service concepts. In order to make it onto the list of world market leaders, companies must fulfill a number of strict criteria: A global market leader must be number one or two worldwide in terms of turnover in at least one relevant market segment At least 50 percent of the annual turnover - lower limit: 50 million euros - must be generated abroad and on three continents. The owners must be based at least in part in Germany. The Masterflex Group is once again one of these "World Market Leader Champions". The complete list of all world market leaders is published every year in the business magazine "WirtschaftsWoche". To the ranking

The award-winning family businesses all have strong balance sheets, solid financial figures and stable economic development. The award as one of the strongest family businesses in 2025 confirms our financial strength, reliability and future viability - and makes us proud to be one of the leading family businesses in Germany. Family businesses shape the country more than many people realize. A study by the Institute for SME Research states that over 90 percent of all German companies are family-run. They also provide around 60 percent of jobs subject to social security contributions and train more than half of all apprentices. Without them, Germany as a business location would hardly be conceivable. Click here for the ranking

Engineering services for precise special solutions In modern production environments, space-saving, reliable components are increasingly crucial - especially in complex system structures. As part of its engineering services, the Masterflex Group offers the opportunity to develop customer-specific special solutions in order to secure real competitive advantages. A current application example from the mechanical engineering sector illustrates this approach: A custom-developed multiple hose system made of polyurethane (PU) was integrated into a complex machine. It replaces conventional distribution systems and supplies several compressed air modules simultaneously. The flow rate is regulated via a central valve. The solution saves installation work, reduces the amount of material used and enables a compact design. Discover short Spotlight-Video with Giovanni Rossi. PU Multiple tubes as an alternative to PFA tubes The connection stability of classic hose systems can be impaired, particularly in applications with high ambient temperatures. This can lead to leaks and increased maintenance costs. In such cases, the material-locking multiple tubes developed by the Masterflex Group offer a thermally stable alternative - also as an option to PFA tubes, depending on the application. Properties and technical features of the multiple tubes Fabric-locking, flow-stable connection technology Manufactured under clean room conditions in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14644-1 Modular configuration (colors, diameters, materials) Lengths up to 5 meters, suitable for complex layouts Partial axial welding possible at defined points Packaging in accordance with cleanroom-compatible standards Production on modern high-tech assembly surfaces From PFA to TPU - Masterflex Group as technology leader & development partner in hose/tubing technology Masterflex Group serves customer requests for high-performance hose systems - with or without the material PFA - either by utilizing strong Group synergies or through targeted development work. Currently, the material alternatives for classic PFA applications are still very limited. Due to their special mechanical properties, fluoropolymers are still among the best-performing plastics for high-temperature and chemical applications. Thanks to the combined expertise within our group of companies, we offer a broad range of technologies for a wide variety of applications. We realize hose inquiries and development projects with high-performance fluoropolymers such as PFA together with our sister company APT in Düsseldorf - the expert for fluoropolymer processing within the group. At the same time, we are also a strong partner for our customers at our locations when it comes to material-specific alternatives. With a deep understanding of applications, regulatory know-how and many years of development experience, we find individual solutions - efficient, sustainable and application-specific. Always the right hose system, so to speak! Watch short video Discover development solutions
